3-PHASE   RANGE   PLAN |
| Our impact bank is currently located directly behind a residential sub-division. This could
create safety issues in the near future. The alleviate potential problems, the Board has devised a plan to
change the location of the impact bank. A 3-Phase Plan for the future of our range was presented by the Executive Board at the October 2007 meeting. Following a lengthy discussion, the members in attendance voted unanimously to accept the plan. As many members were not present at the meeting, following is a brief description of the plan: Phase 1: The club will relinquish the lease on all land South of the pistol range. The existing 700 and 1,000 yard covered lines will be taken down. All dirt mounds will be removed and the land replanted. (The dirt taken from the mounds will be used in Phase 2.) Phase 2: We will lease a parcel of land slightly West of the far end of the 300 yard covered line to change the angle of the shooting line. This land will need to be cleared and leveled, impact banks installed and roads created for the new range. The new shooting line will be 150 feet long and provide a shooting distance of 600 yards. Phase 3: Replant the area of the former 200 yard line. Phase 1 will begin as soon as the snow is gone. We will hold several work parties which members will be requested to attend. The remaining phases ware dependant upon the Whitefish Rifle & Pistol Club, Inc. having the funds to accomplish the construction. The total cost is estimated at $80,000 to $100,000. Work will be completed as funds become available. Watch your newsletters and the web site for updates on the construction! |

FUNDING   THE   PLAN |
| The WRPC does not currently have access to the funds to cover the cost of this project. As we have explored
funding possiblities, we have found that most available grants are "matching" grantes - in other words, the WRPC needs to raise
a certain amount of money that the grantee will match. Therefore, we will need donations from other sources. This project is vital to the longevity of our range. Now is the time for our members to decide how important the range is to them. Is it important enough for us to each give something toward the project or to request tax-deductible gifts from other organizations, businesses, or individuals? One member correctly stated, "If every member could give just $300, we'd have enough money to finish the project this year." Obviously, not everyone can give that much, but WE CAN ALL do something. If you would like to make a donation to this project, please send a check payable to the North Valley Shooting Foundation to P.O. Box 1286, Whitefish, MT 59937 and clearly designate that your donation is for the WRPC Range Project. You will be given a charitable giving receipt for tax purposes. Please contact us if you have questions about this project or donations: Info@WhitefishRiflePistol.org |
We would like the thank the following club members for their generous donation to this project:
