Outdoor Range Rules ~ Revised Fall 2009
NOTE: There is no phone at the range. In case of emergency, members should call 911 from a cell phone. If an ambulance is required, someone will need to unlock the gate. Report any incidents to a Club officer ASAP.

Please!
ALWAYS LOCK THE GATE BEHIND YOU WHEN YOU ENTER AND WHEN YOU LEAVE THE RANGE.

1. All safety rules must be obeyed! KEEP ACTION OPEN AND POINTED IN A SAFE DIRECTION. All firearms must be removed from the bench and placed in the rifle racks when shooters are downrange. Always check with all other shooters before you walk downrange to change targets. Communicate your intentions with other shooters.

2. If a club member is acting as Range Officer, his / her commands must be obeyed promptly. Range officers are utilized at events (such as Hunter’s Sight-In). Prior to the event, officers will attend a brief refresher session on range and safety rules, led by the event’s organizer. Only experienced members will be eligible for a range officer position. New members wishing to serve as a RO will be mentored and supervised by an experienced RO.

3. If a club member should bring a guest, he will be responsible for the conduct of this guest. CLUB MEMBERS HAVE FIRST RIGHT TO THE SHOOTING BENCHES. Your guest will share your table.

4. Bring your own paper targets. Hang them properly on the target boards. DO NOT place targets on the ground to shoot at. Cans and/or bottles must not be used as targets. Clean up after yourself!

5. The gate key will be changed annually. DO NOT GIVE YOUR KEY TO NON-MEMBERS!

6. Club activities and scheduled events will be given preference over individual use. A listing of events will be sent with the spring newsletter or may be obtained from a club officer.

7. If you should see someone damaging or defacing the property or abusing the safety rules, attempt to identify the person or auto or truck license, and we will take the necessary action.

8. We ask that you carry your membership card and show it upon request. The membership has become so large, we no longer can identify members on sight.

9. Club membership is either individual or husband and wife. Children under the age of 18 may be guests but must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. Family members over age 18 should pay dues and become club members.

10. All firearms used at the Rifle Range must be fired off a bench. (No off-hand, standing or prone shooting.)

11. NO CONVENTIONAL HANDGUNS will be fired from the Rifle Range.

12. There will be NO shooting beyond the 200 yard boards at the Rifle Range.

13. A paid membership is a sign of your willingness to comply with these rules and to assist in club activities.

Information for all closures will be available on the club website and information line (881-9933). There will also be postings at the gate and the lock may be changed.
